Born and brought up in Kolkata, Kankana grew up watching women carry their sarees with effortless grace. Some of her fondest memories are of accompanying her mother on saree shopping trips.
She remembers the anticipation of Durga Puja each year—the perfect excuse to raid her mother’s wardrobe and drape herself in those beautiful six yards, feeling the weight of heritage in every thread.
